Why Context Matters in a Service-based Architecture for Mobile Devices

In order to interact with its mobile clients in an ubiquitous and smart fashion, a “mobility-supporting infrastructure” has to use context information about its own and the user’s state. Based on context information, actions have to take place which services are offered to mobile clients. In this paper we discuss the various level of abstraction where context plays an important role for designing smart applications as well as smart infrastructures which benefit from using context information.
